BIG DAY OUT 2012 | SYDNEY | GENERAL PANTS CO. x BOY MOMENTS

Coincidentally, the dates aligned and I celebrated Australia Day at my very first Big Day Out. For those who aren't local, Big Day Out is an annual music festival held in a few key cities in Australia and New Zealand around January. This year celebrates its 20 years of handcrafted festivals with acts such as world class skating and the music culture. General Pants Co. invited me to be their official blogger in Sydney and I saw it as the perfect opportunity to document my first Big Day Out festival.

I invited my friend Talia along, arriving at 10:30am. The weather was wet, raining heavily at the beginning but thankfully the sun came out to play after. I wore my new colourful dye top, which seemed to attract everyone, coming up to me with compliments (gotta love little compliments like that). Definitely wouldn't have gotten lost in the crowd with that pop of colour in my red jeans and fluro pink Breo watch.

We first went and saw Sons of Alamo then, walked around to check out the markets and stalls then went to (one hot sweaty moshpit) Bluejuice. At lunch we sat in the stands eating gozleme and drinking raspberry slurpee, listening to Boy and Bear before spinning under the mist machine to the tunes of The Jezabels. After that we swayed to the cool Kimbra (which can I say has me hooked!) and twisted in some Spanish/Latin tunes by Mariachi El Bronx. We missed Kasabian inexcusably trading that for some much needed dinner, eating spiral hot chips and drinking organic lemon juice, watching a bit of Tony Hawk skate and taking a little break before heading off to Foster The People, where I bumped into another friend Lauren. We left a tad earlier to wait in anticipation for Kanye West, who rose from the crowd to all of our surprises! We finished the night dancing and spinning in a ferris wheel to the electronic beats of Nero.

To sum up my experience, overall it was a great festival and having a day just listening to tunes one after the other couldn't be better, except for my poor tired legs, but that surely would've been the best exercise I've done in a long time! haha. Another thing, most people ended up half naked. In my definition - bra armies and tank capes (not sure if that made any sense to you). In saying that, there were some cool festival outfits, with lots of prints and colours. I snapped some which you can see below.

It's important to educate young people and bring to attention drugs such as Ecstacy. Pairing creativity with an important issue is great to bring awareness.

VANESSA HUDGENS & JOSH HUTCHERSON | JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND | SYDNEY

Last night I attended my first movie premiere held at Events Cinemas Sydney and to share my experience, I invited my friend Georgia along. The family adventure movie Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, stars Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Michael Caine and Dwayne Johnson (The Rock). It was no surprise a huge crowd of screaming young fans came in support for Josh and Vanessa (wearing Amanda Wakeley here) who attended the premiere (even look at the enthusiastic posters they made!). Georgia and I had a chance to have a quick chat to Josh and Vanessa on the carpet plus also to cool Aussie music duos, Luke & Joel (you will probably remember them from X-Factor).

It was Josh's first time in Australia and he told us he is loving the Aussie girls! On the other hand, Vanessa has been in Australia a few times and when asked one of favourite fashion designers here, she said she loves Sass & Bide. But that's not the only Australian label she loves, as she has been seen wearing a few others including Bec & Bridge (pictured).

WATER POLO BY THE SEA | THE BUDGY BIRDCAGE VIEW

Last week, I was invited to the the budgy smuggler Water Polo by the Sea game, where guests and the public had a chance to witness the world world class water polo sport played between the Aussie Sharks and the USA team at Bondi Icebergs. Many of Sydney’s sporting elites and socials attended the game and guests had a chance to chat to the team members after the match.

Thomas Whalan, Australia’s triple Olympian and current Sharks team member was the brains behind this initiative. His aim was to exhibit water polo as a "tough, rugged but sexy sport" whilst also bringing public awareness of the sport and also as a way of bringing support for the upcoming 2012 Olympics. In addition to the fact that not many people would usually watch water polo game, I think it's a great idea to intervene Sydney's socials with sport.

During half time, cricketer Peter Neville, Bondi Lifeguard Greg Bishop and boat racer Hardy Cubasch had a try at the sport. Below is a picture of Greg giving it a shot.

NEW YEARS 2012 | SYDNEY RESOLUTION CONCERT

Happy New Year everyone! Hope this new year brings new happiness and opportunity!

It was my first time really going out to the city to watch the fireworks. Usually I do a house party and have family and friends and then watch the fireworks on TV. This year, I was invited to the Sydney Resolution concert at Glebe Island, which was set up like a little fiesta village, to celebrate New Years. There was a great line up of music artists including Jamiroquai, Pet Shop Boys, Culture Club, Psuedo Echo, Lyndsey Ollard and Guy Sebastian. Though this obviously attracts a more mature crowd, I must admit that I only really listen to Guy Sebastian from the line up. I was given basically a front row seat to the concert and it was nice just to relax and enjoy the day. One of my friends won tickets to the concert so it was also good to hang with her.

This year my resolutions are to take lots of self control and be persistent in what I want.

FAYE DE LANTY | BON VOYAGE AUSTRALIA

Hope you all had a lovely Merry Christmas and had lots of presents! I have decided to post this little post about the amazing Faye De Lanty. Another friend of mine which left earlier this year to the land of New York City to continue her creative adventure! These are the photos from her little farewell dinner and I thought I had to document a little bit of it and her house too! Also a fun fact- previous rock star member of INXS, Michael Hutchence use to live in her house and her room! I quite love her furniture.

If you don't know Faye, you may remember the days when she was the host on Totally Wild. She was also a premiere TV trainer at NIDA and also runs her own own fashion label Love Chile, which encapsulates her funky, rock and roll, hippy style. Faye also runs, Fashion Hound, a weekly video blog that captures stories and styles of people. Check out her Youtube channel here and her pieces in local online magazine NineToFive here. She is definitely a talented one!

ALL THAT REMAINS | DR DENIM | GRAM | BONEL PR

On Friday, I visited the Bonel Pr showroom to check out their new designers. Their latest addition, All That Remains, was one that stood out to me. The label is designed by Leah Lockley and included lots of suede, hand crafted pieces and laces. Her items can be bought here and also available at Desordre. I tried 2 capes on by All That Remains, and it's something fun for winter. I swished around, so I thought to make a gif file below. I feel like it's definite a piece for fashion week!

I also tried on a burgundy jacket by Dr Denim. Burgundy/Maroon is such a popular colour right now and I love it! Dr Denim also have a poping colour range of denim too!

The woven shoe is by Gram and its something cool, a bit hippy but not to mention how comfy it is, with an extra cushion padding inside. Sadly they only had one of the pair, so I couldn't show you both of them.

VIVIEN'S MODELS & CREATIVE XMAS PARTY 2011

On Wednesday night, I was invited to VIVIEN'S Models and Creative's annual Christmas party, held at Kit & Kaboodle in Kings Cross. I always love the presence of models, only just to wish I was just as tall and as good in their looks.

The night saw some of Vivien's top models, stylist and photographers in attendance. Knowing me, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to snap some happy model moments celebrating the end of the year, so here is the result. We grooved to the beats of The Franchi Brothers, sharing passionate kisses and secrets. I also met one of the models of the moment, the Stenmark twins, Jordan.

Pumping red Belvedere Vodka cocktails, duck noodle salad, bbq king prawns, southern fried chicken drumettes, sushi and other canapes were served through out the night.

PRADA ILLUSION

Do you remember the Sunglass Hut float? Well, these are the new Prada Illusion sunglasses I bought. They are inspired by ski goggles and I think it's good to have a huge pair to wear for all year round. It's different to all my other sunglasses which is a great addition to my slowly growing collection of sunglasses. As you know, I don't often take photos of myself posing, but thought it would be nice to take a few snaps to show you these sunglasses. I was told not many people had tried these on and don't suit everyone. Do you think it works on me..?

LEVIS THE ORIGINAL | THE WORLD’S OLDEST JEANS

Two weeks ago, I witnessed the showcase of the world’s oldest pair of jeans. The event held by Levis was at Bucklers Canteen at Bondi. There were four security guards guarding these historical pieces and were introduced by Levi’s ‘Queen of the Archives’ Lynn Downey. The oldest pair of jeans as held above was 130 years old and were believed to be a cow boys jeans. They didn't look as old or grungy as I had expected, except the tag which was a bit worn down. Also during the night, a pair of women's jeans in a "woodstock" style were showcased as well.

TIGER BEER AUSTRALIA | TIGER TRANSLATE

You may or may not know, but I was honoured to find I was chosen to be Tiger Beer Australia's Official Social Photographer for their events. The first of these was the annual Tiger Translate party last week. I have to say I'm quite happy that this little photography hobby of mine has given me this fun opportunity.

The annual Tiger Translate Global Showcase gives the opportunity for emerging artists to show their work on an international platform and at the party, we saw exhibited winner Matt Stewart’s “Growth” themed work alongside the other seven finalists. You can read more about Tiger Translate HERE.

It was a night full of music, art, dance, photobooths (Polite In Public) and of course Tiger Beer! There were some artists creating live works and guests also had the opportunity to contribute to some works and make their own art, which was great fun!

GQ MAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS | AUSTRALIA

Last week Natasa and I withheld the weather and covered the GQ Man of the Year event for website Sassi Sam. This year Joel Edgerton took the title of GQ's Men Of The Year and sharing this month's cover with Actor of The Year, Alex O'Loughlin of Hawaii Five-O and first ever taking the title of Woman Of The Year, Rachael Taylor. Some other celebrities included Twilight actor Kellan Lutz, Xavier Samuel, designer Samantha Wills, Hugh Sheridan.

Natasa and I had the chance to chat to some of our favourites Alex O'Loughlin and Kellan Lutz. You can see what they said and more pictures at Sassi Sam here

I also had the chance to do some last minute styling for Olympic swimmer James Magnussen who won the Breakthrough of the Year Award. Extremely happy for him, especially for his achievements at only 20!

SUNGLASS HUT | FLOATING POP UP STORE | AUSTRALIA

Sunglass Hut launched the worlds first Sunglass Hut Floating Store two weeks ago. The 3 day pop up store was anchored to Campbells Cove Wharf overlooking the Sydney Opera House right beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge for the launch night and moved across to Darling Harbour for the remainder of it's opening.

Although the weather that week was depressing, thank goodness there was no rain. On the night of the launch event, we were also lucky enough to have the company of Grammy Award winning Jason Mraz perform exclusively on a one off performance (aside from his two concerts at the Sydney Opera House which were sold out) singing us some of our favourite tunes including Lucky, I'm Yours etc.. It was the perfect night as we swayed to Jason's summer tunes on the water. Click on the youtube player above and below the text to relive a little of it :)

The pop up store had an exclusive 150 piece collection of-never–seen-before sunglasses including the Ray-Ban Rare Prints, and the Miu Miu Noirs that Madonna has been wearing of late, which was be available for purchase anywhere else in Australia until February 2012. Consumers were able to be the first to buy them in Australia and a sneak peak into what will be coming.

I tried on Dolce & Gabbana aviators, which were quite cool and also the amazingly editorial Prada Illusions, which are the biggest sunniest I've ever owned. Watch the video campaign of it at the bottom. I loveee it!

The waiters wore cool printed shorts by Anna & Boy. There is a shot at the bottom, which I didn't snap.

To celebrate Lee Jeans bright new colourful summer range, they had party with Glue Store last Wednesday at Good God Small Club in Sydney. I was colourful like a kid, wearing vintage pink mickey mouse top from TheCobraShop, vintage purple jeans with hot pink Breo watch and LuvAj ring.

There were beer, and cocktails, m&m and chips. The one down side was the heat. It was like a sauna hot!

I went to the my-wardrobe.com showing last week. The online store stocks Luxury Designer Fashion for Men & Women. It was great seeing a nice range of designers including Acne, Preen, 3.1 by Phillip Lim, Mulberry, DVF, Helmet Lang, Alexander McQueen and more. Unfortunately the men's wasn't available. Here are a few snaps I took of some things that caught my eye.

ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA AUSTRALIA | S/S 12

The other week, I visited the Ermenegildo Zegna Showroom, this time on the other side, viewing and not working for them. An interesting fact I discovered was that, they are now aligning with the northern hemisphere so the fashion house will all globally stocking the same. This makes visitors from overseas not feel like Australia is behind with the previous season stock and more unified with the international stores.

I picked out a few pieces that I thought were some pieces that stood out. I tried on a light apple/pear green, blazer. I don't usually go so colourful, but I had the Lee Denim Flavours party so I had to dress in colour, so I was like.. why not try some mix match. What do you think of that look?

LOUNGE APPAREL | AUTUMN WINTER 2012

This label Lounge Apparel is designed by Carmen Bianco, wife of Anthony Bianco, the man behind Tony Bianco. Lounge Apparel is in it's fifth year and are all about the designs that are simple yet sophisticated and something that is not just fashionable but also clothes that function. The pieces were mostly monochrome in colour palette but would be awesome for autumn and winter! Obviously not a menswear label, but lots of androgynous pieces, especially with coats.

The leather pieces and that coat above is quite amazing!

FRENCH CONNECTION | AUTUMN WINTER 2012 PREVIEW

I have to say, going to the French Connection Winter 2012 showing, definitely more than exceeded my expectations. I even said the word "amazing" at least 3 times, and I don't think it's often I would say it so consecutively. I was just surprised at the range. I must admit I have not been in a French Connection store or bought anything from them in awhile, but this showing has made my views change a little. The winter jackets and outerwear pieces really caught my eye, and with the price points were quite reasonable for them.

I discovered, only a selection of the range from French Connection in UK are delivered to Australia, while other pieces, such as the menswear, are mostly developed here to suit our market. This is probably one of the reasons why I particularly liked the women's jackets because they are developed in the UK. I wouldn't say the pieces developed here are boring, but again, it is very commercial, which is fine for the target market.

I love the Mad Men-esque look with the fur collar jacket and hat, plus the other fur jackets I took pics of and wearing below. I also liked the red on red with the Equestrian hat. Another piece I liked was the large hole knit with a chiffon skirt, as a one piece dress. There were also lots of peter pan collars. Many unexpected pieces I didn't think I would see at French Connection. I showed a range of people these photos before I uploaded this post and no one could've guessed they were all French Connection.

The girls from French Connection were extremely fun and even gave us lollies boxes and sparkling water with paper straws to leave with. I had a great time playing dress ups! The womenswear are always more fun to play with, especially in Australia! I kind of can't wait till it's winter again!

ARMANI EXCHANGE | THE FALL 2012 COLLECTION | METROPOLIS

A couple of weeks ago, I went to the Armani Exchange, there were some nice pieces, some very commercial pieces, but that's exactly what the brand for formed for. Affordable and commercial made for the broad consumers. I definitely wouldn't mind grabbing that faux fur jacket and that small chain leather bag.

SOCIAL DIARY XMAS PARTY 2011 | COME FLY WITH ME | AUSTRALIA

Last week, I was invited to the Social Diary Xmas Party held at the Bungalow 8, which transformed into the Social Diary Airlines. The theme was "Come Fly With Me" and we saw over 1000 guests dressed up as supermen, aliens, spaceships, flight attendants, pilots, astronauts, angels, Harry Potters, birds, mocking of Qantas and many more crazy outfits! Founder, Tiffany Farrington came in a hilarious Pam Ann in a blue suitcase! Now, you wonder... it's only November... why a Christmas party? Well, like being first to let people know about the hottest events in the city, Tiffany wants to be the first to have a Christmas party!

On arrival, guests were served drinks and canapes in suitcases by guys topless events dressed as shirtless pilots. It would definitely be an airline service many would love! haha

Social Diary is a website that keeps the members in the know of the hottest parties happening and upcoming in town. Known as throwing the most insane annual Christmas parties, this year was no different. The party only got crazier and definitely sky high as the night went on! There were various prize giveaways on the night for best dressed, raffles, photo/video booths (Polite in Public) and various entertainment performances including dancers and some numbers by KHODA.

We all went home with a kilo heavy gift bag, that filled up truck!

SPEEDO SUMMER 2012 COLLECTION MENS | BEHIND THE SCENES | AUSTRALIA

As you may have seen on twitter a few weeks ago, I was on set behind the scenes of the shoot for Speedo's Summer 2012 collection, shot at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre. There were also lots of press on the scene from The Australian, to Channel 9 to Fox Sport, interviewing them.

The campaign shot by photographer Tomasz Machnik, will feature Australian swimming Olympian Andrew Lauterstein and World Champion James (The Missile) Magnussen (pictured above respectively) wearing the new range of Speedo swimwear which includes bright and vibrant prints from Speedo ‘Flipturns’ range, new summer colours in Speedo Water shorts and performance wear.

The concept of the shoot revolved around the different elements of water - in and out
with Machnik capturing some amazing underwater shots and fun spontaneous action water shots.

It was a fun shoot, with the swimmers jumping in and out of water. Can't wait to see how the shots turn out! I think the coloured water shorts are going to perfect for the beach!

DAY OF THE DEAD | GENERAL PANTS CO. | HALLOWEEN PARTY | 2011

On the actual date of Halloween - 31st October, I went to General Pants Co. 's Halloween Party inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead festival at The Standard, LO-FI. Of course as expected, when General Pants Co. throws a party, it goes off! The place was filled with zombies, skeletons, and crazy costumes. Free booze and meaty burritos from Guzman Y Gomez, with live bands, kept the party going deep into the night.

On this last night of my Halloween festivities, I dressed as a dead sailor, channeling my inner androgyny with a black and white wig. It was a really fun night! One thing I always say about General Pants Co. is - it's a place where all the cool kids work.

On Monday, I attended the exclusive re launch of The Bubble at LO-FI, where there were works by Lee, Levis and Vanishing Elephant, plus live artists creating their works and band The Khans (who just signed to another great initiative of General Pants Co. - Major Label).

As you know, The Bubble bursted from the ever successful General Pants Co. in 2008 as a mentoring program for young creatives. Many of which have become part of General Pants Co. extended creative family. The Bubble is all about nurturing young creative talent and helping them develop through creative challenges and competitions, giving them opportunities that money could not buy.

BONEL PR | SHOWING | 2011

The other week, I visited the lovely showroom of Bonel PR. I was welcomed with my personal preference, Mocha from Sonoma and some banana bread. It was great to see some lovely men pieces and bow ties from Dr Denim and shoes from GRAM (each shoe is weighed and unique).
The amazing cuff is by Sarah and Sebastian, which I am lusting after right now.

ABSOLUT HALLOWEEN | 21 | LEATHER LACE & LEGENDS PAST | 2011

On Thursday night, my friend Bec and I dressed up as Mickey Mouse & Little Red Riding-Hood to attend Absolut Halloween, our first party of the Halloween festivities this year. Absolut Vodka held their annual Halloween bash at the new night hotspot 21, that just opened last month, bringing back to life the infamous party after taking a year off.

There were fairy bread served with the cockroaches (not real of course), Pecking duck pancakes with hoi sin sauce, vegetarian rice paper rolls, rockmelon wrapped in prosciutto with balsamic glaze and mini chicken ribbon sandwiches whilst we drank Sailor Jerry spider punch, Bloody Absolut Fizz and West Coast to keep us hydrated on the night dancing to the cranked up beats of DJ Matt Saville and LC.

With guests dressed up in the theme Leather, Lace and Legends Past, it was no doubt one of the hottest Halloween parties this year.
Yet again, thanks to Sara Bray, for another successful night happen!

MY BIRTHDAY was last Tuesday, and so I on the Friday evening. At first I wasn't sure where to celebrate, but when I asked around, The Hilton Sydney Hotel offered me a small space at their Marble Bar. Marble Bar is underground The Hilton Sydney and is one of the oldest and has the most beautiful ceiling. You would remember me going to their own 118th Birthday here. So when they offered it to me and complimentary champagne, I didn't hesitate! Though many people I invited bailed, it ended up having a nice and intimate night and I had an amazing time with my friends who came, enjoying some classic tunes and Brown Sugar playing live and Dj Trey. Thank you so so much for all of those who came and also to The Hilton Sydney for giving me a special VIP treatment!

G-STAR | AUTUMN/WINTER 2012 COLLECTION PRESENTATION | AUSTRALIA

On Wednesday, I went into the G-Star Showroom at their head office for their Autumn/Winter 2012 showing. It was so amazing to see pieces from the runway. Ever wondered why you don't see the runway pieces in stores? Well, that's because they are one offs and aren't produced, but rather, used for editorials and shoots. Not only are the pieces impeccably highly constructed, extreme and avant garde, but would be extremely expensive so, the runway pieces are translated into more commercial pieces which are then sold in stores. I tried on the amazing huge oversized woolly coat (soo André Leon Talley) and cape. Pieces like these make me wish it was winter!

It's great to see the craftsmanship of the pieces in person and learn about their denim roots and how their 3d raw denim jeans can be molded to you personally. In the past I've always been fascinated with G-Star's runway productions. It's almost like a presentation and runway show integrated together. Though the A/W NYFW show was just a simple one this time round.

I've been following and wearing G-Star for quite some years now and the cuts of the pieces are always modern and fit people's body shapes well. he innovative brand extends their work into furniture, bikes, ferries and more (check it out here), including clothes range collaboration with Marc Newson.

NEUW DENIM BERRY PARTY!

Last Thursday, after getting off The Premise a bit sea sick, I rocked on to an alley way on Little Oxford St, where Neuw Denim (one of my personal favourite denim labels) were throwing a party for their new red coloured Jeans, also as they call it.. Berry Denim Party! There were berry ice pops, berry vodka test tube shots and of course the denim! Chris Lilley (from Summer Heights High) even made an appearance, though I wasn't there when he was. It was a pretty nice wind down Thursday, felt like a Friday. Here are some snaps I took.

THE PREMISE | DRAMBUIE | THE DISPENSARY | THE ISLAND | 2011

On Thursday evening, Drambuie launched THE PREMISE on The Island, Sydney's hottest venue in the month of October, a floating location which overseas the iconic Sydney Harbour. I was ticked off the guest list at the Man O War Steps next to the Sydney Opera House and hopped onto a private water taxi escorted onto the The Premise. The venue was spectacular despite the rainy weather. The only criticism I have to say was the lack of balance of food to going around, leaving me and others a little sea sick with the addition of the alcohol in our system plus the movement by the ocean.

Drambuie held a design competition for The Premise and announced the winning design idea "The Dispensary" and winners Matilda Swan and Simon Connett."During September, The Island ...[underwent] a $50,000 renovation in order to reflect The Premise winner’s dream design concept...With 350 square metres of space, a fully licensed and serviced cocktail bar, commercial kitchen, bathroom facilities and a professional sound system.." The couple have developed a really amazing idea with mortar and fresh herbs. Watch the video at the bottom of them both explaining their concept.

NOKIA N9 LAUNCH | AUSTRALIA

Last Wednesday, I was invited to a nice brunch at The Ivy Penhouse, launching the Nokia N9 smartphone. The phone comes in 3 colours including poping pink, blue and black. The whole concept is about the beautiful and simple design. In collaboration with 5 Australian personalities Nokia unveiled the new campaign and commercials with the Nine Entertainment Company, including Firass Dirani, Emma Freedman, Catriona Rowntree, Kate Waterhouse and Luke Ricketson.

The concept of the campaigns represent and reflect each of the personalities. I had a chat to Emma Freedman and Kate Waterhouse about the campaign and upcoming Melbourne Cup! Have a watch below.

Nokia have used each of the campaigns specifically to market a range of customers, from mums, to couples, and single and ready to mingle, using the natural nature of the personalities themselves to represent the diversity brand and the phone.

SEBASTIAN SAUVÉ | MODEL INTERVIEW

Sebastian Sauvé, is a 24 year old model born in America but raised in the UK. As you can tell by the videos and this interview, he is quite quirky and a bit out there with a big personality. It's always great to see someone with character than just another ordinary model. His face is quite unique and interesting to me, especially with his distinctive lips. While taking over the fashion scene, he is also studying Business Management at Sheffield University and has already interned at Gucci. He definitely breaks all the stereotypes. It's been a long time I put up an interview. I did this a long while back and been bogged down with so many things, I hadn't had time to compile it up, but here it is finally!!

Sebastian was discovered in 2009 and has pretty much appeared everywhere from runways of in the past 2 years. Gracing over magazines such as Vogue Hommes, GQ, GQ Style, L'Officiel Hommes, i-D, Wallpaper, walking down the runways including Calvin Klein, Givenchy, Versace, Dsquared2, John Galliano, Jeremy Scott, Thierry Mugler, Alexis Mabille plus also being the face of Just Cavalli and appearing in Frankie Morello's ad campaigns in addition to catalogues of Zara.

Shit. Lol, I was ok I guess I just didn’t care to make the effort to do tasks which I saw to be of no use to my life what so ever so from the teachers point of view, yeah, I was shit!

How/When did you start modeling?
A guy I met towards the end of my Central American travels before I started University. His named Scott Pollicino and we we’re staying in the same youth hostel and made friends. He later asked if I ever thought I could be a model. I said only my mom thinks that but he said he thinks a have a good chance and got me into a casting with an agency and then it all began...

Did you ever think you could be a model?
Hmmm... I didn’t think I couldn’t be a model but I didn’t think I would because I didn’t look skinny and pasty pale like the ones I saw. I did think I could do it better than them though. Now that I am a model I’m going to try and do it the way I always thought I’d like it to be done.

When you did your first shoot did you feel uncomfortable in front of the camera?
I wouldn’t say uncomfortable, maybe a little weird but just because there were people that wanted to take pictures of me and put it in a magazine. My first shoot was on a roof in the middle of London where dozens of people could see me so there was no room for feeling uncomfortable.

Do you plan to do modelling for long term? or have you got other career paths you wish to pursue.
I’ve got a lot plans and career paths I wish to pursue. I like keeping my fingers in as many pie’s as I can. Modelling is great and all, but rule number one in my book is, don’t depend on it because you never know what happens down the line. It’s important to pursue other things. I have an ultimate plan but that’s a secrete so don’t ask. lol

What job has been most fun so far?
Calvin Klein presentation kuz it was basically a huge party or maybe the Moschino show kuz it was like a gig as the baseballs were playing on the stage which was also the runway. Or lifeball in Vienna for Dsquared for it's sheer size(70000 people watching all dressed up)

You worked at Gucci as an intern, how did you get the gig?
Luck and persistence. I pretended to know someone that used to work There to get the interview and then kept pestering them till they hired me.

Who do you wish to work with?
Steven Klein. D&G. Adidas

What's your favourite feature about you?
- I guess my height, or my really, really big.... hands.

Who's your favourite model/s?
Not sure really. I generally don’t like any of them for their looks but for their personalities, characteristics and mostly there comical value. A couple I like are River Viiperi, Tom Lander and Simon Nessman pretty cool

Favourite designer/s?
Hmm, I’m gunna say Frankie Morrello because theirs so much range and he pushes the boundaries but always pulls it off. My favourite item of clothing though is a pair of checkered Gucci pants because I get a compliment a minute when I’m wearing them.

Do you have any bad habits?
- Yeah loads;
- Forgetting people’s names
- Forgetting to reply to texts and emails
- Forgetting everything else
- Over sleeping
- Spitting when I smoke – this is very bad and I need to stop
- Accidentally repeating what people say rite after they say it cuz it sounds funny
- Being 8 minutes late to everything
- The list goes on...

What's your most embarrassing/awkward moment?
When I did a cat walk and my balls were hanging out the whole time. Jokes. I’m not sure really I don’t get embarrassed easily like a few weeks ago I was standing naked in front of like 20 people and wasn’t. I do get embarrassed when people realise that I have no idea what their name is after talking to them for like 5 hours

Do you have any hobbies?
A few. Mostly eating and sleeping and yes I do consider them hobbies as I am so fond of them. I also like acting like a child and playing hacky sack and any form of comedy

What's your style?
Uhhh.... How about... I don’t care, I do what I want! Does that count? I’m very laid back and like to try everything and anything.

What music do you like? and do you play any?
I like most music’s. The good stuff outta each genre. Mostly D&B, dance, electro, house, dub step. Least R&B hip-hop and rap although some of it is really good. Right now I’m listening to Super fly by Curtis Mayfield... Fuck yeah. I don’t play anything per say but I want to be able to play the Bongo by summer and the saxophone when I’m older

What are your plans now? ( in terms of study/modelling and career)
Model full time while it pays the bills. Intern at a marketing firm in NYC, set up some businesses. Magazine, website, etc.

Have you heard much about Australia or want to visit?
Well I live in England and we get adverts on TV all the time about Australia telling us all about how awesome it is and reminding us how shit England is. Heck yeah I want to go to Australia. I want to go diving there the only thing that scares me is those jelly fish that and 50000 times more poisonous than a tarantula

ICON BRAND | HIGH SUMMER 11 LAUNCH PARTY | PIECES OF NOWHERE

On Thursday night after Marble Bar's 118th Birthday, Natasa and I went to the Icon Brand High Summer 11 Launch of the "Pieces of Nowhere" range. Icon Brand is the sister accessories label to Samantha Wills, who is also the creative director of Icon Brand.

Hunky Dory Social Club was the perfect party setting for the label, quirky and raw. Jack Dawson played and bands, Bridgemary Kiss, The Money Smokers plus Jamie Corson on decks continued while we drank strawberry cider, beer and ate burgers. It was a great alternative crowd, some parts hippy, some parts androgynous. We all went away with some cool new pieces from the range in cool eco- paper packets. Buy there accessories HERE!

MARBLE BAR 118TH BIRTHDAY | THE HILTON SYDNEY HOTEL

Thursday night was Marble Bar's 118th Birthday, underground The Hilton Sydney Hotel. It was also their first ever birthday! With the huge history behind it, backing all the way to 1893, it makes it the oldest of the landmarks in comparison to the Queen Victoria Building (1898), Sydney Harbour Bridge (1932), Anzac War Memorial (1934), Sydney Opera House (1973) and Sydney Tower (1981).

I was in awe entering underground the iconic marble interior, spectacular ceiling and the Edwardian paintings by Julian Ashton, it really gave me a feeling of historical significance. Almost a feel of like a museum.

Marble Bar serves as a perfect live music venue while sipping on classic cocktails and canapes. Many celebs over the years including "Liza Minnelli, George Benson, Wyclef Jean, Eve, Kelly Rowland, Mischa Barton, Ewan McGregor, Adam Lambert and Slash have all partied amongst its breathtaking and original marble features"

After major restorations in 2005 "today patrons can enjoy the original 15th Century Italian Renaissance influence of the Marble Bar including 35 different varieties of Italian, Belgian and African marble as well as stained glass doors and ceilings, ornate carved bars of mahogany and a gallery of 14 Julian Ashton paintings valued at an estimated $1.6 million AUD."

CLOUDY BAY LOUNGE | LAUNCH | SYDNEY | LOWER CONCOURSE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

Last night, I was invited to the launch of Cloudy Bay Lounge, set in Sydney's harbourside in the Lower Concourse of the Sydney Opera House. This unique pop up lounge is a collaboration between Sydney Opera House, Opera Kitchen and Cloudy Bay wines, which offers array of beautiful food, quality wine and the perfect harbour backdrop. The Cloudy Bay Lounge will be open for a short 2 week period until 16th of October.

The range of Cloudy Bay wines are complimented with a limited edition menu designed by acclaimed food producers, chefs and sushi artists including Justin North, John Susman, Nahji Chu and Kenji Nishinakagawa.

The menu that we got to taste included the Cloudy Bay Fish Co. 's Grilled king salmon, Braised and dressed albacore tuna on croutons, Charlie & Co. Burger's Wagyu burger, Miss Chu Dumplings and Vegetarian egg omelette, balsamic caramelised onion and avocado rice paper roll and Kenji's Rainbow rolls. We also had freshly shucked Eastern Oysters and The Rock Oyster for us!

Despite the rainy weather, I stayed nice and dry and had a great time tasting all the wine and canapes.

I also had the chance to meet Miss Chu herself and you know my love for dumplings!

ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA | SYDNEY FLAGSHIP STORE LAUNCH EVENT | AUSTRALIA

As you know from my previous post, I have been working with Ermenegildo Zegna in a number of ways. One of these was helping and instrumenting the launch event of the Ermenegildo Zegna Sydney Flagship Store, including assisting, styling the models looks. It's great working with such a luxury menswear brand seeing the process of quality suits tailored to the male form. The models were great and the casted models from eMg and London Mgt Group represented the brand well. Although I was working the run of the night, the social media and twitterholic me snapped some coverage for you guys! So much so, the Official Zegna Twitter asked everyone to follow me for live updates. Crazy! haha

The event was on Thursday night and a member of Zegna and President of the company Paolo Zegna launched the store. The renowned Italian fashion house has always had a good relationship with Australia, being one of the largest buyers of Australian superfine wool. On the night, I had a chat to one of the Australian farmers who produce superfine wool, and it was fascinating to hear the process and his stories. The night before, they held their 48th Edition of the Wool Awards.

The canapes were catered by Aria Restaurant and edited by Chef Matt Moran. Each one was carefully thought through and were incredibly tasty and full of flavour. A favourite of mine was the dessert, Raspberry and Pistachio tart with gold leaf. Food is always important at events. It's definitely one thing I remember at a successful function.

ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA | JAMES MAGNUSSEN & GEOFF HUEGILL | FITTING STYLING DRESSING

For the past few weeks, I've been working with Ermenegildo Zegna, helping them in a number of aspects. This included their Sydney Store launch and when asked which guys to dress and invite, I suggested Olympic swimmers James Magnussen and Geoff Huegill, who I previously meeting at the Speedo show. Both of them have been receiving press, with 20 year old James known as Australia's biggest swimming star, after being the first Australian man to win gold in the 100m freestyle at the world swimming championships this year and Geoff who has also made a big come back to the pool as you all know, planning to compete in the 2012 Summer Olympics. He also married longtime partner Sara Hills and will soon become a father too!

Last week, I assisted styling and dressing them for the Sydney store launch event and I think they were definitely quite impressed with the immaculate tailoring of Zegna. Great to see them out of their speedos and into a suit for a change!

INNER CIRCLE | LUNCH PREVIEW | SUNGLASS HUT + PEDESTRIAN TV | THE WINERY

Some lovely blogger colleagues and I were invited to be part of the Inner Circle, welcome and introduced in collaboration with Sunglass Hut and Pedestrian TV. We had a lovely spring garden 3 course lunch at The Winery, with unlimited champagne and pims. It was the most relaxing day I've had! The food was equally amazing!

We a mixture of entrees and for the main I had the Grilled Barramundi, kipflers, poached tomatos and salsa verde. For dessert, we had Double chocolate brownie, fairy floss and vanilla ice cream. I think you can tell why, after this lunch, I was literally lying and sleeping in the sun. haha

SUNBURN SWIMWEAR BONDI STORE LAUNCH | SPEEDO AQUABUMPS

Two weekends ago, I went to Bondi to do a little coverage of the launch of the Sunburn Swimwear store, featuring the amazing photograph print collaboration with Aquabumps and Speedo. The weather was beautiful, with Bondi Rescue Lifeguards Harries and Hoppo mc'ing plus Speedo ambassador Rachael Finch, in a beautiful white Collette Dinnigan dress welcoming and chatting to everyone. There were lots of laughs on the day, with Harries attempting to dance with Rachael and even wearing bikinis! hahaha!

I also had a quick chat with Rachael, Eugene Tan (photographer of Aquabumps) and some of the guys who were there. Watch 4 videos I took below ( especially the dancing video! haha). Some refershing ice cream and sorbet were also served on the day!

MISS COLO CHANEL | TEMPS DE REVES

On Vogue Fashion's Night Out, Natasa Colo and I were trying to escape the rain, and she decided to use her scarf to cover her head, who was ironically designed by Adrian Mesko, a photographer who has worked for Vogue and started his own luxury scarf label Temps Des Reves where he printed his amazing photographs on to them. (You can buy the scarf photographed - here - its called Blue Blue Blue). Coincidently I had round glasses and it was a perfect match for the head scarf look. With the designer gift bags and Tiffany & Co. Pop Corn, I couldn't resist but to do an impromptu shoot.

VOGUE FASHION'S NIGHT OUT 2011 | SYDNEY | AUSTRALIA

Last Thursday was the global fashion event - Vogue Fashion's Night Ou t! The whole CBD in the city of Sydney lit up and pumped with music and all kinds of store initiatives, including face painting, gift bags, live store models, free drinks, food, dessert, plus even Tiffany & C0. PopCorn and Sportsgirl Fairy Floss!

It was a great public event for everyone to interact. Sydney social celebs, models and designers came out to play too!There was so much going on. It was like a festival or like a school fair except everything fashion and very crowded (which I wasn't the biggest fan of) but it was all part of the vibe!! I had great fun.. even though the weather didn't hold up through the night, and it started to rain. It was my first Vogue Fashion's Night Out and it was fun, just bouncing from one place to the other with Tania, Natasa and Kim. I also took 2 funny short videos - take a look below!

THE AYUVERDIC WELLNESS CENTRE | A TOUCH OF ANCEINT HEALING WISDOM

Last Tuesday, I went to the opening of Australia's first ever, truly authentic Ayurvedic Treatment Centre at Bondi & I invited Natasa to come with me.

The centre is opened by Rita Sagrani, who sold her fashion business to launch a much needed traditional treatment centre after having to travel every year to India to overcome her personal health challenges. Ayurveda is India's ancient science of life and longevity and is the healing or therapeutic sister science to Yoga. Each treatment is catered to the individual according to their own unique body type and personal structure, where traditional therapies detoxify the body and balance the mind, body and spirit. Herbal oils and natural ingredients are processed and used for each treatment and the massage therapists are trained from India, which means the experience will be entirely authentic.

One treatment in particular I was remember that was mentioned was the 2 letres of oil used to massage all over your body. Plus also another treatment where 2 letres of oil is slowly poured through over your forehead. It will apparently make you feel relaxed and out of this world. ( I can imagine!) I have yet to try, but will be very shortly! Will be a very very interesting experience.

The food on the night was all organic and vegetarian too! A very healthy change for me. The drinks were of course non alcoholic including mint and punch, and also another fruit punch with beetroot juice.

DIESEL ISLAND | LAUNCH | ALEXANDRA RICHARDS | SYDNEY AUSTRALIA

Last Wednesday, I landed on DIESEL ISLAND (Sun Studios)! The brave brand has always pushed the boundaries with concepts and this time, their new controversial campaign "Diesel Island: Land of the Stupid & Home of the Brave" continues to pose issues of our society. The whole concept was that because of all the pollution, wars and corruption, carbon tax, live cattle export, asylum seekers, Diesel believes this world to be a fucked up one. They think the stupid and the brave can do a better job in creating a new democracy with no limitation or boundaries and therefore comes - DIESEL ISLAND

Rock Royalty, model & DJ Alexandra Richards, daughter of Keith Richards (Rolling Stones) and model Patti Hansen was also on Diesel Island as Sydney's ambassador with her Australian boyfriend Nick Cohen. Alexandra was going around Australia djing with her boyfriend, including Spice Market in Melbourne and also supporting 666 Pure Vodka. She has been shot of course by Vogue (latest and hottest shoot by Tom Munro for Italian Vogue HERE) and some of the biggest photographers in the world, even nude for French Playboy (HERE) last year! She is also currently gracing the pages of the Louis Vuitton Jewellery lookbook HERE) I just love her rock grunge style. I had a quick chat with her. Take a look at the video below!

Upon entering Diesel Island,we were greeted by a pink goat! Yep a pink goat! We then went inside and crossed a bridge with sounds of waves and when we got to the other side, there were Diesel Island (models) citizens saluting with pillows. Fruitful drinks and cocktails with floating slogans signs on them like, "The World's F*cked Up"and amazing canapes gave a very organic vibe with the leaves and the flowers, it was the perfect compliment for the Diesel Island. There was also an installation, where models represented the life on Diesel Island. It had a very tropical island pirate feel to it. It was a great night with over 250 of Sydney's social went aboard the island!

Last Wednesday, I went to G-Shock's 'Moment in Time' launch in Sydney at Lo -Fi. It was probably the biggest party in town. Not only were there a huge amount of watches showcased, but Big Boi from Outkast and Theophilus performed live! This was probably one of the biggest nights, with a full crowd dancing to their beats, including many Sydney socials like Didier Cohen,Dan Ewing, Nikki Phillip and Gracie Otto. I was only there for the second half of the night when Big Boi was performing, as I had to go to Diesel Island launch ( which I will post up shortly).

The party did get a little sauna sweaty, but all was good to have a live performance! The next day.. I was dead.

THE BELLEVUE HOTEL LAUNCH | PADDINGTON | INTERIOR DESIGN BY MICHELLE LESLIE

Last week I went to the launch of the Upstairs at The Bellevue Hotel in Paddington. All gone under renovation and interiors designed by ex-model Michelle Leslie (pictured below with fur). The upstairs was filled with warm colours, chesterfield sofas and Renaissance paintings, finished with rich wood, brass touches and beautiful antique chandeliers. It features as a sitting and private dining room venue, with a great outdoor wooden balcony which will be the ideal for relaxing, absorbing the sun and the warm summer nights.

Over 150 guests attended, filling to all sides of the walls. Most enjoyable was the endless serves of cocktails and canapes. That pineapple and pomegranate cocktail below was so good I had 4 of them. Plus that pork belly with sour cherry.. just could not resist the fat! haha

There were so many canapes.. to name a few they include - Smoked eggplant tartlet with woodside goats cured, Chicken and tarragon finger sandwiches
Mozzarella, eggplant and salsa agresto finger sandwiches, Slow roast pork belly with sour cherries, Boudin blanc of chicken wrapped in brioche.

I also met amazing jewellery designer Sofia Fitzpatrick, who handcrafts every individual piece herself from a chunk of silver, gold or brass. We played around with her crazy chunk skull rings and my ManiaMania Immortals ring, you can see pics of us below. Check out her label Silver Skull Jewellery here - absolutely love it! I also met her friend, Simon Day, who was the front man of Ratcat, one of the huge Australian indie bands back in the late eighties and nineties. Interestingly, I had a google of course and he was in last years Bonds Tube Bra ad here. Coincidentally, both Sofia's jewellery and Simon is currently featured in the September Issue of Rolling Stones Australia.

SPEEDO | RUNWAY | SUMMER 2011 SWIMWEAR COLLECTION | MERCEDES-BENZ FF

On Wednesday, I attended the runway launch of the SPEEDO Summer ’11 swimwear collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney, Town Hall. The summery and energetic, colour filled show featured women’s, men’s and kids SPEEDO BEACH collections plus also the SPEEDO AQUABUMPS collaboration with Eugene Tan. The AQUABUMPS prints were refreshing and perfect for the summer to come! The runway show also showcased the perfect vibrant colours and prints for the upcoming summer, plus some dancers interjecting throughout the show! The kids on the runway were the cutest things ever! Speedo shows they are made for all ages. When it comes to swimwear, it's always Speedo. I remember learning to swim in them!

Rachel Finch walked the runway, for the first time since competing in the Miss Universe Australia. It was amazing to see her return to the runway, taking a break for 2 years, during in which, has been on Celebrity MasterChef, Dancing With The Stars and now engaged too!

Walking down the runway alongside Rachel, was Eamon Sullivan, Olympic swimmer who has received a lot of press this year with obtaining the title of CLEO BACHELOR 2011, crownded as a Celebrity MasterChef, opening his co-owned cafe Louis Baxter in Perth and he just launched his very own cookbook, Eamon's Kitchen. I had a quick chat with him backstage while he was getting prepped for the show. Watch the video below, talking about what was going through his nerves before walking down the runway, what's next installed for him and a message for young aspiring swimmers. There is also another video at the bottom of Rachel, Eamon and Sophie talking about Speedo.

Sitting front row, opposite me were Eamon's swimmer mates, Speedo athletes - James Magnussen, Geoff Huegill and Libby Trickett cheering and whistling him on. It's great to see them supporting each other!

Australia's Next Top Model Cycle 6, Sophie Van Den Akker also brought some energy and fun vibes down the runway.
Models are definitely a wake up call for me... to exercise. Ps. Doesn't that model below in yellow shorts, look like Chris Brown?!

On Wednesday, I attended the runway launch of the SPEEDO Summer ’11 swimwear collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney, Town Hall. Before the show started, I went into their hair and make up. The kids are also the most adorable things!
